NDIS pricing for disability support work
The NDIS sets maximum hourly rates to ensure consistent pricing across providers. What you pay depends on several factors:
- The type of support required (personal care, social support, domestic assistance, etc.)
- The time and day of service — weekday rates are lower than weekends or public holidays
- The level of support required (standard vs. high-intensity)
- Additional costs such as travel charges for workers coming to your home
Note on NDIS pricing: NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits are reviewed annually, typically on 1 July each year. The figures below reflect the 2024-25 schedule. Visit the NDIS website for the most current rates before making planning decisions.

How the NDIS sets pricing for support work
The NDIS Pricing Arrangements are reviewed regularly in consultation with industry experts, disability service providers, and participants. Rates are set to balance fair compensation for workers, affordability for participants, and financial sustainability for providers.
The NDIS allows for an estimated provider profit margin of approximately 8%, factored into the rates to help providers remain financially viable. Providers also need to cover staff wages (including weekend penalty rates), training and compliance costs, administration, insurance, and travel expenses for mobile services.
Other costs to be aware of
Travel costs: Some services may incur travel charges, particularly in outer metro areas or where workers travel to your home. Under the NDIS, this is typically funded separately from the support itself. For private clients, travel costs are discussed upfront.
Cancellation fees: The NDIS allows providers to charge 100% of the scheduled fee if a session is cancelled without adequate notice, up to five days. At Heartfelt Support, we only require 48 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation charge.
Support coordination and plan management: If you require support coordination or plan management, these are charged separately under the NDIS pricing guide. Your support coordinator can also help you manage your overall budget.
