Quick answer: Psychosocial recovery coaching costs

If you or someone you know is looking for psychosocial recovery coaching in Adelaide, understanding the costs involved is an important first step. Whether you’re accessing support through the NDIS or paying privately, this guide walks through how pricing works and what to expect from Heartfelt Support.
How recovery coaching is funded in your NDIS plan
The most common funding source. Look for this line item in your plan document.
Sometimes used where coaching overlaps with therapeutic supports. Ask your LAC or planner.
Recovery coaching has its own standalone NDIS line item — it does not come out of your Core budget.
We offer both lived-experience and degree-qualified recovery coaches, ensuring a tailored approach to each person’s unique needs.
NDIS pricing for psychosocial recovery coaching
Psychosocial recovery coaching is designed to support people living with mental health conditions in developing strategies, increasing independence, and achieving personal goals. The NDIS sets maximum hourly rates to ensure consistent pricing across providers.
Note on NDIS pricing: NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits are reviewed and updated annually, typically on 1 July each year. The figures below reflect the 2024-25 schedule. Visit the NDIS website for the most current rates before making planning decisions.
| Support Item | Item No. | Weekday | Saturday | Sunday | Public Holiday |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Psychosocial Recovery Coaching | 07_101_0106_6_3 | $107.24/hr | $150.14/hr | $193.04/hr | $235.94/hr |
Private psychosocial recovery coaching costs
For clients not using NDIS funding, Heartfelt Support charges the same professional rates as the NDIS, with GST (10%) added as required for private services:
| Support Item | Private Rate (inc. GST) |
|---|---|
| Recovery Coaching — Weekday Daytime | $117.96/hr |
| Recovery Coaching — Saturday | $165.15/hr |
| Recovery Coaching — Sunday | $212.34/hr |
| Recovery Coaching — Public Holiday | $259.53/hr |
How the NDIS sets pricing
The NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits are reviewed annually in consultation with providers and participants. A key factor in the model is an estimated 8% provider profit margin, which ensures providers can cover the genuine costs of delivery. These include:
- Staff wages, including penalty rates for weekends and public holidays
- Training and compliance costs for both lived-experience and degree-qualified coaches
- Administration costs including scheduling, reporting, and client communication
- Insurance and operational costs including public liability, professional indemnity, and workers’ compensation
- Travel expenses for community-based services
Other costs to be aware of
Travel costs: Some services may incur travel charges, particularly if sessions are conducted in the community or at a participant’s home. Under the NDIS, this is typically covered within the participant’s plan. For private clients, travel costs are discussed upfront.
Cancellation fees: The NDIS allows providers to charge 100% of the scheduled fee if a session is cancelled without adequate notice, which can be up to five days. At Heartfelt Support, we require only 48 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee — we understand that flexibility matters.
